PLAXTER P are polymeric plasticizers, PLAXTER M are the monomeric ones.
PLAXTER P, POLYMERIC PLASTICIZERS, are polyesters with a molecular weight varying between a few hundred and a few thousand, usually capped with alcoholic or acidic chain stoppers.
Usage:
As PVC plasticizer. The main applications in the PVC formulations are:
- Tubes for fuel and solvents
- Cables
- Films for packing food products (stretching food-contact films)
- Adhesive tapes
- Synthetic leather
- Gaskets.
Due to their lower migration rate in comparison with monomeric plasticizers, they are used for plasticizing PVC for food-contact products, PVC for cables to be used at high temperature, pipes for petrol. The food-contact grades reach UE approval or, in some case, the USA (FDA) ones.
PLAXTER M, MONOMERIC PLASTICIZERS are esterification products based on phtalic and or maleic anhydride together with various alcohols (isobutilic, methylic, ethylic cycloesylic, etc.).
Usage:
Employed in PVC and cellulose acetate flock formulations for the production of granules and plastic materials, ranging from normal garden hose-pipe to eye glasses/goggles and to watery dispersion as well as plasticizer for organic peroxides.
